THE ONASSIS FOUNDATION SCIENCE LECTURE SERIES 2010 IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
Network and Information Security
FORTH, Heraklion Crete, Greece, 28 June - 2 July 2010
Dear Colleague,
I would like to inform you that this year Onassis Summer School in Computer Science is devoted to: Network and Information Security.
Lecturers are:
Adi Shamir (The Weizmann Institute of Science), Turing Award (2002).
Alessandro Acquisti (Carnegie Mellon University). Steven Bellovin (Columbia University).
Kenny Paterson (Royal Holloway University of London).
Bart Preneel (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven).
George Spanoudakis (City University London).
Udo Helmbrecht - Guest Lecturer - (ENISA).
Socrates Katsikas - Guest Lecturer - (University of Piraeus).
The lectures will cover topics ranging from cryptographic mechanisms, algorithms and protocols to NIS applications and services that address academic, research and policy issues, as well as new developments in this emerging world.
The Onassis Foundation provides financial support to 35 Greeks and 15 International qualified students (post Graduate and advanced Undergraduate) for their travel and local expenses.
I would like to ask you to encourage excellent students and young scientists from your institution to apply.

Εάν κάποιος αποφασίσει να πάει τότε προσπαθείστε να μην χάσετε το lecture του Steve Bellovin. Πρόκειται για τον inventor του "firewall" αλλά και του usenet και είναι μοναδικός ομιλιτής.
ps: Φυσικά προσπαθείστε να δείτε και τον Shamir (είναι το "S" απο τον RSA
)

Όταν αποφοιτήσεις από κάποιο Παν/μιο κρατάς τον χώρο και το email σου ;
Τον τεράστιο χώρο 40MB με το φοβερό uptime/security/domain name ενώ υπάρχουν free mail services me 7.5 GB antispam + + + + :P

όχι ρε. Αν πχ κάνεις διδακτορικό σε ένα Πανεπιστήμιο, θα συνεχίσεις να έχεις το mail σου και την προσωπική σου σελίδα, ή θα πρέπει να "συστήνεσαι" από την αρχή;

λίγο off αλλά..

στο πανελλήνιο συνέδριο τεχνητής νοημοσύνης σε πολλές διαλέξεις ήταν μόνο έλληνες και όλοι μιλούσαν αγγλικά.. :lol: :lol:

πάντως πριν από 2 χρόνια είχαν κάνει αίτηση αρκετοί φίλοι μου--πολύ καλοί φοιτητές και είχαν γίνει δεκτοί.

κι αν τα παιδιά δε θέλουν αν φαίνονται τα ονόματά τους; Λες να έκανε σικέ summer school ολόκληρο ITE; Δεν το πιστεύω.
