Την Δευτέρα 15 Ιανουαρίου θα πραγματοποιηθεί η 64η τελετή απονομής των βραβείων "Χρυσές Σφαίρες", που υποτίθεται "αποτελούν τον προάγγελο των Όσκαρ". Τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες έχουν συγκεντρώσει το Babel του Alejandro González Iñárritu με 7 συνολικά και το The Departed (Ο πληροφοριοδότης) του Martin Scorsese με 6.
