The Swedish National Police decided to build all future systems on an Open Source infrastructure including primarily Linux, MySQL and JBoss. By standardizing on Open Source, the 25 000 employees organization will be able to avoid vendor lock in, while projected savings are equivalent to 400 fully equipped new police cars.
