Being the Lineage II addict that I am, I have neglected alot of people, including the one I cared about most. this event made me realize that lineage II isn't everything, it's just a game. I learnt the hard way, I hope it doesn't come to this for the reader.
About one week ago, I was supposed to give a ride to my girlfriend to buy some groceries at the nearby grocery store. I was in the middle of a mass flagging war in the Forbidden Gateway on retail. I was purple, I couldn't log out and couldn't see my character die. I told her I will give her a ride later, but she insisted she needed to go home and buy some groceries before she does so.
So she went ahead and walked there.
Minutes later I heard the shrill screeching of tires, then suddenly, as if the world around me froze, silence so deafening it could kill...
I rushed out to see a bunch of people crowded in the middle of the road. Seeing and knowing by common sense that this was a dangerous act, I yelled at the people to get off the road before getting mauled by a vehicle. Vehicles speed at about 60-70km/hr around my street, not noticing the speed sign that says 30km/hr MAX
When they scattered to the sides of the road with cellphones and some weeping, I saw what layed near the middle of the road. It was something you would never...EVER want to see in your life.
The first thing I noticed was a wide, thick puddle of dark red blood. Then I saw, and beheld, my girlfriend's dead body. I rushed over and as I approached, I saw the body was in all sorts of awkward angles. I knelt down and saw a jellylike substance oozing from the back of her head. Blood was flowing from under her eyes and out from her nose. Her face was dislodged. what was in her mouth... blood, teeth, and gravel...
The next thing I knew...I was yanked back by a paramedic and held firm at the arms.. they carefully wrapped the head in thick blackets of goss and towels. they then put her on a stretcher... surprisingly, she was still breathing, but merely...
I sat, and waited...and waited for one long hour at the sidewalk's hard concrete and watched as they flushed the blood down with water and picked up the solid substances from the bloodbath...my cell phone rang, it was her parents...
I rushed to the hostpital... the doctor had scanned the body. Her left side was finished...all mush.. fragments of her left ribs had punctured her right lung... blood had to be constantly drained from her throat through a hole they can cut in her wind pipe to prevent her from choking... blood was oozing from her ears. There was no face left...
We began to count the hours...
2:45p.m. An 18 year old had passed away. One amongst the many victims of reckless drivers killed every year. that 18 year old was someone very special to me...she was a treasury...my life...
She was my girlfriend.... was.....and never, ever will be again...
Rest in peace. May all those who loved and knew you never forget your compassion and heart warming smile. Your were mine, and are still mine, for ever and ever. and yet I never got to say goodbye, I didn't even see her face when she walked out the front door.. and I knew...
she was crying. not for herself, but for me. Lineage II had taken my life.

It has taken me alot of courage to post such a tragic event as this with the sole purpose to help other people realize that lineage isn't everything...
at first I didn't think the responses would be positive, so thank you so much.
I have spoken to many people during the past week and since I have moved to a new school because I have to live with my girlfriend's parents for awhile to help them get through this.
During the next few weeks, I will embark on a tour about the districts to public and private schools to give speeches about this incident to raise awareness to the youths about the danger of being addicted to games.
I'm not doing this for the money or the time off homework and tests (even though I usually would), I'd figured that this would be what my girlfriend would want me to do if I were to be able to speak to her in heaven. It would have been what she would do anyway, such a kind heart, always giving.
