http://www.applegazette.com/ipod/beat-g ... uct-recap/Today Apple unveiled an entire new line of iPods as well as some new software for iPhone users and new features including Ringtones.
The Ringtone Features include: Ringtone maker in iTunes. Rringtones including songs you already purchased, over 500,000 participating songs. Cost of ringtones: .99 cents.
The new iPod line refresh started with the iPod Shuffle, now available in 1 Gb models with new colors including a (product)red version.
The new iPod Nanos were announced, and now feature video playback, games, and a new UI that matches the video leaked online several weeks ago.
The Nanos come in 4GB and 8GB versions. 4GB only comes in silver and will be $149, 8GB will be in all other colors and will be $199.
The next thing announced was the “iPod Classic”, which is basically the 5G iPod with a new all metal design, and the new UI featured on the iPod Nano.
The new iPod Classics are priced at 80 gb for $249 and 160 gb is $349.
The last addition to the iPod line up revealed today was the new iPod Touch. The device is essentially an iPhone without the Phone. It has Wi-Fi access and even Safari and YouTube. It is available in 8 and 16 gb flavors.
The iPod Touch is priced at 8GB and 16GB, for $299 and $399.
In addition to those announcements, it was also announced that the iPhone price has dropped to $399. Something sure to infuriate early adopters and make those who waited really, REALLY happy.
The long awaited iTunes Wireless Music store was also announced today. This is coming for both the iPhone and the new iPod Touch. The store is a native application on both devices and will allow you to surf and preview the full iTunes store, then download content directly to your iPod Touch or iPhone. The next time you sync with your PC or Mac, that content will be added to your iTunes Library.
Apple also announced a partnership with Starbucks allowing you to purchase songs that you are listening to in iTunes via the Wi-Fi store.
