Γίνεται ναί αλλά δεν είπες εάν ο Serial ATA Controller είναι επάνω στο motherboard η ξεχωριστή κάρτα.

Ο controller ειναι πάνω στην motherboard.

Οκ απλά φρόντισε να έχεις φορτώσει πρώτα κάποιον driver για τον controller προκειμένου να έχεις πρόσβαση στα channels του. Για τα SATA είναι συνήθως embedded μέσα με στο package που έχει τους οδηγούς για τον USB Controller.
